Last week, Camera Operator Eve Cohen and I flew down to Miami and we were able to capture some amazing footage. Friday, we filmed several scenes, including one very special scene where ex-CIA agent Roberto Medell walked my father around the top-secret airport where the CIA trained the Cuban-exiles before they flew to the Congo in the 1960's.
Saturday we had the opportunity to film at the yearly Cuban Pilots reunion. It was a pleasure and an honor to film with men with such an incredible history. Most of them were either in the Bay of Pigs or the Congo. We also captured a very heartfelt meeting between one of the son's of the Cuban-exiles who died in the Congo, David Tunon, and Juan Peron, the Cuban pilot who was the last person to see his father alive. It was the first time that David was able to hear the truth about his father's death, and we were honored to be able to film such an intimate moment.
